Larger Number of Believers May Attend Holy Masses in Churches in “Yellow” Statistical Regions

30.4.2021 Slovenija COVID19

The Slovenian bishops are acquainted with the new Ordinance on temporary restriction on implementation of freedom of religion in the Republic of Slovenia of April 29, 2021 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia No. 66/2021). Based on the mentioned Ordinance, the bishops determined for the period from April 30, 2021, to May 9, 2021, inclusive that religious rituals in churches in the statistical regions of Pomurska, Koroška, Osrednjeslovenska, Goriška and Obalno-kraška (The map of statistical regions: https://www.stat.si/obcine/sl) are limited to one participant or member of the same household (family) on 20 square meters.

Indoors, where the grouping of ten participants would otherwise not be allowed, a maximum of ten participants is allowed if a distance of at least 1.5 meters can be provided between them, except between persons from a common household (e.g. smaller churches and chapels). The new instructions of the Slovenian bishops from April 30 to May 9, 2021, are available at the following link.
