Instructions for Performing Processions on the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ during the COVID-19 Epidemic

We urge all priests to abide by the following instructions of the Slovenian bishops when organizing processions on the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

Following government ordinances on the temporary restriction of the collective exercise of religious freedom in the Republic of Slovenia(Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, nos. 63/21, 66/21, 69/21, 73/21 and 79/21), the National Institute of Public Health recommendations and instructions of Slovenian bishops during epidemics of COVID-19 religious processions may take place outdoors.

The number of persons, collectively exercising religious freedom in open areas is limited to one participant per 10 square meters or more participants from a common household. The interpersonal distance between the participants must be at least 1.5 meters throughout the procession, except among persons from a common household. If a distance of 1.5 meters cannot be provided between participants, they must wear protective masks during the procession.
