The third Sunday of Advent already gives us a foretaste of Christmas joy. The word of God speaks of Jesus Christ, the bearer of joy, light, and salvation. Let us take God’s proclamation seriously because the Lord is close and fills us with joy. The life of a Christian living amid trials is a joyful celebration of this closeness.
