Today, a man often sees God's commandments only as unacceptable restrictions placed on the path of his freedom. In reality, they are an expression of God's greatest love and his paternal care for the man. The commandments are an expression of the covenant of friendship between him and God, who promised to protect his people and bring them to the Promised Land.
