The disciples were happy when they met the Risen Lord. John Paul II persistently invited us to gaze into Jesus’ glorified wounds that bring hope and mercy to people. We will recognize Jesus in a suffering man and bear witness to God’s mercy. We will become his disciples when we allow him to imprint in our hearts the image of his merciful heart.
