On Sunday, March 14, 2021, we will celebrate a day of prayer in memory of all the victims of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Catholic Church in Slovenia.

The Archbishop of Ljubljana, Metropolitan and President of the Slovenian Bishops' Conference(SBC), Msgr Stanislav Zore, will attend a ceremony to mourn the victims of the COVID-19 epidemic on Sunday, March 14, 2021. It will take place in Žale in Ljubljana (the Miha Potočnik Park) at 11 a.m. Together with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor, and other state representatives and representatives of religious communities, Archbishop Zore will mark the first death anniversary due to COVID-19. In lasting memory of all the victims of the epidemic and as a symbol of mourning and compassion for all the deceased's relatives, he will bless the weeping willow.

At the Slovenian Bishops' Conference on February 26, 2021, we commemorated the first anniversary of the measures taken by SBC to curb the coronavirus pandemic. At the beginning of 2020, Slovenian bishops monitored the spread of the pandemic in neighbouring countries(especially in Italy) and prepared preventive measures for the protection of Catholic believers and Slovenia's population. All instructions, measures, materials, and news about the COVID-19 epidemic are available on the Catholic Church's special website.
