New Bishop of Novo mesto, Msgr Dr Andrej Saje Consecrated in Parish Church in Mirna Peč

On Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 2.30 pm in the parish church in Mirna Peč, the episcopal consecration of Msgr Dr Andrej Saje took place. He was appointed bishop of Novo mesto on June 30, 2021, by the Holy Father Francis.

The principal consecrator was Msgr Andrej Glavan, the apostolic administrator of the diocese of Novo mesto and its first bishop. Co-consecrator were the Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Slovenia, Archbishop Msgr Jean-Marie Speich and Msgr Jože Marketz, Bishop of Krško. In his homily, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Slovenia, Archbishop Msgr Jean-Marie Speich explained the importance of the episcopal ministry and the synod's role.
