Jesus is the Good Shepherd, even willing to give his life for his sheep. He brings true freedom. A good shepherd does his work with zeal. He knows each sheep by name, he appreciates it, and he wants to surround it with love, serve it, and give himself to it. The shepherd is close to his sheep, loves them, makes sacrifices, and never loses courage.
