Holy Mass for the Victims of the COVID-19 Epidemic

During Lent, from February 17 to April 1, 2021, the representatives of European Bishops' Conferences will offer daily Holy Masses for the victims of the COVID-19 epidemic in Europe. In Slovenia, a Holy Mass will be offered by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Ljubljana, President of the Slovenian Bishops' Conference, Msgr Stanislav Zore, on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 6.30 p.m. in the Ljubljana Cathedral.

The initiative is organized by the Council of the Bishops' Conferences of Europe (CCEE) in Switzerland, which proposed that during the 40 days of Lent, 39 CCEE members, together with the Council Secretariat, unite in fraternal prayer and Eucharistic remembrance for the victims of the epidemic.

According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), more than 562,000 people have died from COVID-19 in Europe.
