Archbishop Zore Offered Holy Mass for Homeland on the 30th Anniversary of Independent Slovenia

On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, in the cathedral church of St. Nicholas in Ljubljana, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Ljubljana and President of the Slovenian Bishops' Conference, Msgr Stanislav Zore, offered s Holy Mass for the Homeland on Statehood Day.

The Thanksgiving Mass for the Homeland before the Statehood Day was attended by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor, the President of the National Assembly, Mr Igor Zorčič, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Austria, MA Mr Wolfgang Sobotka, Prime Minister Mr Janez Janša, President of the National Council Mr Alojz Kovšca, President of the Supreme Court Mr Damjan Florjančič, the Ombudsman and ministers.

The Holy Mass for the Homeland was also attended by representatives of social, political, cultural and economic life, MEPs and MPs, representatives of the Slovenian Army and Police, the Bishop of the Evangelical Church in Slovenia Leon Novak, Aleksandar Obradović on behalf of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Mufti Nevzet Porić on behalf of the Islamic Community in the Republic of Slovenia.

As every year, the Holy Mass was attended by many ambassadors to the Republic of Slovenia, led by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Slovenia.

The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Slovenian archbishops, bishops and many other priests.

Representatives of the military vicariate read the Word of God and the prayers of the faithful. Members of the police vicariate and senior religious order leaders were also present.

The Holy Mass was broadcast live on Radio Ognjišče.
