On Monday, June 7, 2021, the 124th regular session of the Slovenian Bishops' Conference was held in Ljubljana.

Among other things, the bishops were acquainted with the convening of a synod entitled News for the Synod: we start with the local churches. The Synod will begin in October 2021 and end in Rome in October 2023. The Bishops have also supplemented the Guidelines for the Protection of Children, Adolescents, and Vulnerable Adults. The guidelines will soon be published on the SBC website. They also took note of a letter from the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments concerning new exclamations in the litanies of St. Joseph. The bishops also discussed the Guidelines for the Formation of Priests in the Church in Slovenia. As part of the 124th regular session, they met with the Senate of the Faculty of Theology at the University of Ljubljana. They were acquainted with its operation and mission and the importance of theological study for the Church and Slovenian society. They ended their meeting with a joint lunch with the President of the Republic Borut Pahor, which he hosted on the 30th anniversary of the state. Archbishop Msgr Stanislav Zore and President Borut Pahor then issued a joint statement to the public, emphasizing the role of the Church at the time of our state's independence efforts and the important role of Archbishop Šuštar. In a joint statement, they also assessed that our state has achieved much in reconciliation and overcoming differences in the last decade.
