On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, we will celebrate the 7th World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, proclaimed by Pope Francis in 2015. This year it will be held under the motto A Home for All? Renewing the Oikos of God.
The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation is the beginning of the so-called "Season of creation" that concludes on October 4, on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation has an ecumenical character, as Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew designated September 1 as a day of prayer for the environment in 1989.
